COVID-19 and changing how we work

Ensuring the wellbeing of our staff and community

Changing how we work

At Gippsland Women’s Health (GWH) we take the health of our community very seriously. Covid-19 is an evolving situation that requires a careful and measured response, and we must all do our part. GWH is committed to providing a high quality service that ensures the safety and wellbeing of our staff and community that is why GWH will be adopting a working from home policy for the foreseeable future.

Our office and Wig Bank will be closed from Monday 23 March until further advised. Our office phone line (03) 5143 1600 will remain open or please contact us here.

Our staff will be working from home until we deem it safe to return to our normal office arrangements. Any scheduled meetings will now happen over the phone or via video link. We are in the process of cancelling upcoming training, unless they can be run via video conferencing.

The Wellington McGrath Breast Care Nurse is available for telephone and email consultation on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. To arrange an appointment time please call on (03) 51431600 or message via our website here.

Look after yourself and each other

GWH appreciates your support and patience during these challenging times and we will continue to provide further updates as we go. We are all in uncharted waters right now and it’s perfectly normal to feel anxious or concerned.  Try to use this as an opportunity to practice kindness and compassion in your community — reach out to others, regularly check in, and stay as connected as you can.

We want to reassure everyone that all services that support women and children will continue with the same commitment to service delivery as always. There is increased risks, there are complexities, but all services will work to keep women and children safe.

If you feel unsafe or are concerned for someone’s safety, please call 000 or contact the police in your state or territory.
