Gippsland has some of the highest rates of family violence, intimate partner violence, rape and indecent assault in Victoria.

On average, one woman a week is murdered by her current or former partner in Australia. The annual Candlelight Vigil brings people together to remember and honour the women and children who have died as a result of family and domestic violence.

From 8 March 2022 (International Women’s Day) to 4 May 2022 (Candlelight Vigil), all funds will be utilised to help stop violence against women in Gippsland, in partnership with Scarlet & Grace Aromas and Women in Gippsland.

Gippsland Women’s Health and Scarlet & Grace have collaborated to bring awareness to the women and children who have died from violence.

To purchase the limited-edition Lotus Flower 340g candle, please visit Lotus Flower – 340gm Soy Wax Candle – Scarlet & Grace (, where 10% of all sales proceeds will be donated to stop violence against women.

Given the large geographical size of the Gippsland region and the fact that we are the only women’s health service in the catchment, we welcome and value donations to enable us to broaden the reach of our current programs and resources to a greater number of women within the Gippsland area.
