Women's Health Policy
The work of Gippsland Women's Health Service is guided by and supports the philosophy of the Victorian Women's Health Program.
The aim of the Program is
"To improve the health and well being of all Victorian women (with an emphasis on those most at risk), through the development and dissemination of health information and research and through the provision of community and professional education. These activities take place directly with women and in partnership with the health and community sectors."
The dual strategy of delivering gender-specific health services whilst working to improve mainstream services remains a key aspect of women's health.
Other government policy initiatives that impact on women's health include:
- Growing Victoria Together
- A Fairer Victoria A Fairer Victoria 2007
- Integrated Health Promotion Framework
- Leading with Victoria's Women
- Women's Health and Wellbeing Strategy
- Women's Safety Strategy
