Gippsland Women's Health Service offers a range of information services for all women and health professionals throughout the Gippsland region. These services are free and confidential. We are committed to assisting women of all ages to optimise their health and wellbeing.

Library

The Library specialises in resources on women's health and wellbeing and is open to all women, their partners and health professionals in Gippsland.

Talk to us : Community Health Nurse

We welcome you to come in and talk to us about any issue relevant to your health and wellbeing. We have the ability and the time to help you work out your information needs, and provide you with details about our relevant programs and services.

We believe that every women has the right to make an informed choice about her health and wellbeing needs.

Women in Gippsland can also call our toll free phone number to discuss any health related issues with the Community Health Nurse, or to access support, information or referral on any issue that concerns women's health.

Phone: 1800 805 448, Monday to Thursday, 9 - 4pm. Fridays 9 - 3pm.

We are closed on Public Holidays and between Christmas and New Year.

McGrath Breast Care Nurse

With thanks to the McGrath Foundation, Gippsland Women’s Health Service has the services of a local McGrath Breast Care Nurse who provides physical, psychological and emotional support for women diagnosed with breast cancer and their families.

Margaret Centra is available every second Thursday and each Friday by appointment.

(8.30am - 4.30pm)

Discuss face to face or phone based non-directive pregnancy options. Free confidential pregnancy testing is also available.

Health information sessions

Information sessions can be provided to community groups, schools and other organisations. Requests are considered in line with our health promotion plan and priority areas. Please contact us for more information or download an information session request form here (PDF 38 Kb).

Newsletter

A free newsletter is produced quarterly with each edition focusing on a different theme. The newsletter is widely distributed to members, professionals and health organisations across Gippsland. Some back copies are available and can be requested from the Service.

As part of our planning, legal requirements and health promotion work, we publish a number of documents each year, including strategic plans, health promotion plans, annual reports and program reports. Copies of these documents are available here.
