**Are you aged 18-25 and live in Gippsland? **
Gippsland Women’s Health Service Health Promotion Officer Jodie Pullman is conducting a research project with Dr Darryl Maybery an Associate Professor in the Department of Rural and Indigenous Health towards a Master of Biomedical Science Part 1 at Monash University.
The aim of this research project is to examine the relationship between body dissatisfaction and sexual risk taking behaviour in young women aged 18 – 25 years.
It is hoped that the information gathered will help in understanding these behaviours and may assist in the development of appropriate health promotion strategies that may improve sexual decision making in adolescent girls.
She is seeking females aged 18-25 years of age who reside in the
Gippsland area to complete a 20 minute questionnaire.
Your assistance will potentially lead to major benefits for the field of sexual health by learning more about what influences sexual risk taking in young women which could assist in the prevention of these behaviours in the future.
10 Point Plan For Victorian Women's Health 2010-2014
Over the past few months, Victorian women’s health services have finalised a new 10 Point Plan for the period 2010 to 2014 which builds on the success of the 2006 document. The plan outlines a vision for women’s health in Victoria over the next 5 years and reiterates a call for a whole of government strategy.
The plan is designed to improve the health and wellbeing of all Victorian women. It consists of 10 points for action that we are urging government to commit to over the next five years, as well as four key priority areas for women’s health and a series of recommendations for each identified area.
A growing number of organisations have endorsed the 10 Point Plan for Victorian Women's Health and Wellbeing. Women's Health Victoria is maintaining the master list of endorsees on behalf of the Victorian Women's Health Services. Updates on this list of endorsees can be found on the Women's Health Victoria website.
